I love that I get to share the photos from this Christmas tree farm session because I’m obsessed! Pretty colors, cute outfits, an adorable dog! It’s also exciting because this was my third time getting to photograph Josie, Aaron, and Bentley! More than a year since their wedding – wow the year has flown by! I loved getting the chance to catch up with them. So even though it wasn’t technically an anniversary session, that’s what I’m calling it haha. It’s always a lot of fun. Josie found the cutest little Christmas Tree Farm in Monmouth, Maine called Frederickson’s Tree Farm, and we met up during golden hour my favorite time of day. We didn’t get any breathtaking sunsets but it wasn’t raining and during this time of year that in itself is amazing for sure! I loved being able to photograph a winter session without freezing fingers – it was so nice out that day.
Because it was so early in the season – there was no snow. And I mean, you kind of want snow for a Christmas tree farm session. No worries though, I brought along a snow machine! It was pretty awesome haha! Ok – when we first fired it up I was like a kid on Christmas. Who knew it could look so magical!? But anyway, it was a little bit of trial and error and it took some getting used to, but I love the way it looks in the photos. Trust me I’m obsessed with one of the photos below – so dreamy! It definitely added to the Christmas vibe we were hoping for. So I’m going to call it a success.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”
I have to say – I don’t think Bentley is overly crazy about being in the pictures. But we always make it work and this time was no different. He looks so cute in the photos! His cute bandana’s that match Josie and Aarons outfits were adorable. Bentley’s pretty rambunctious so Josie was the #bestdogmomever and brought him all kinds of Christmas dog toys to play with during the session. Don’t worry “Gingy” the gingerbread toy makes his appearance in the photos below! Also, make sure to check out Bentley’s Christmas stocking – so cute!
What a fun session! I’m so glad I got to start the season off this way. Now, that I’ve had my first Christmas session of the season, I’m going to use it as an excuse to start celebrating early 😂 Like I need an excuse to start watching Hallmark Christmas movies haha. Let me know what you think of the snow machine. I might bring it to other sessions. I could always use an excuse to experiment more with it! Per usual, here are some of my faves. Enjoy!
